Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to describe and evaluate English language learning using the "My Kitchen My Life" visual aid method for Family Welfare Movement (PKK) mothers in Jatibarang District, Brebes. This study was a community service program (PkM) with a descriptive qualitative approach. The one-session intervention was conducted on June 24, 2025, in Pamengger Village. The "English for Kitchen Tools" material utilized illustrated and labeled A3 posters, accompanied by demonstrations, pronunciation drills, and simple practice. Data were obtained through participant observation, testimonials from participants and community leaders, and documentation. The study showed high enthusiasm among participants, increased vocabulary recognition, and improved basic pronunciation accuracy. The visual media facilitated the sound-image connection, increased motivation and attention. The program was deemed relevant, low-cost, and easily replicated. Limitations included its short duration and the lack of standardized quantitative evaluation. In conclusion, the contextual visual aid method was effective in improving vocabulary literacy and speaking confidence among housewives. It is recommended to carry out tiered replication and strengthen evaluation through pretest-posttest and pronunciation rubrics.
