Abstrak

Qawāʿid al-ʿAqāʾid by Imam al-Ghazali is one of the key references for understanding the foundations of faith and the epistemological framework of Islamic education. This work integrates rationality and spirituality, thereby providing a basis for the development of a holistic Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to describe the relevance of the values contained in Qawāʿid al-ʿAqāʾid in responding to the challenges faced by Islamic education in the era of globalization and digitalization, particularly in relation to strengthening character, promoting religious moderation, and integrating knowledge. The research method employed is library research, which involves examining al-Ghazali’s work alongside contemporary literature on Islamic education. The findings indicate that Qawāʿid al-ʿAqāʾid makes a significant contribution to building an integrative educational paradigm that balances cognitive, moral, and spiritual dimensions. Values such as tazkiyat al-nafs, the integration of reason and revelation, as well as religious moderation, are relevant in addressing phenomena like moral crises, digital culture, and social fragmentation. Thus, al-Ghazali’s thought can serve as a foundation for developing contextual, humanistic Islamic Religious Education that is oriented toward the formation of students’ character.
