Abstrak

The book of Jeremiah is a book that is difficult to understand because the story often changes suddenly without a clear reason, making it difficult to determine where the poem ends and where a new poem begins. This research aims to describe and analyze narrative criticism as a Biblical hermeneutical method according to the studies of Biblical theologians. The method used in this research is a qualitative method which was developed through a review of various literature relevant to the research problem. This method aims to provide opportunities for further research in this field, both in terms of biblical hermeneutics and practitioners in the use of narrative interpretation of texts and books in the Bible. The results obtained from this research show that through the book of Jeremiah 31:29-31, God removed the collective curse that was passed down from generation to generation. In the past, sinful parents caused their children to suffer. However, God promised that under this new covenant, each person would be held accountable for their own sins, and justice would be served
