Abstrak

SMPN 12 Jambi City is a state school that teaches general science. The academic data collection process at SMPN 12 Jambi City does not yet have media to increase the effectiveness of the academic process and a place to publish school information to all schools involved and outside parties. Another problem is that managing grades, student schedules, teacher schedules, announcements about the school are still manual. The assessment process begins with the teacher per subject recording the grades of each student, then the grades are submitted to the homeroom teacher, then the homeroom teacher records the grades from the teacher for each subject in his class then the entire score is submitted by the homeroom teacher to the administration to be input into Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. The aim of this research is to analyze the academic information system at SMPN 12 Jambi City which is currently running and design an academic information system at SMPN 12 Jambi City using the PHP programming language and MySQL DBMS. Researchers carried out system development using the waterfall method and adopted the Unified Modeling Language (UML) approach. With this academic information system website assists SMP N 12 Jambi City in disseminating information about school academic activities and student grade data to parents, guardians and students. This provides a means to communicate more efficiently and facilitate access to information for all parties involved
