Analisis Kemampuan Memecahkan Masalah Matematis Siswa Sekolah Dasar Dalam Mengerjakan Soal Cerita

The main problem in Indonesian education is the low quality of mathematical thinking in problem solving. Factors that influence student success are internal student factors, including learning. Many students fail in their studies because they do not understand how to manage their learning. Therefore, learning style plays an important role in learning success. An abstract approach with explanatory teaching methods is common in all elementary school mathematics education. In addition, general course learning is required, namely creative thinking and strong motivation, experience of active participation of students in solving problems through individual learning methods, which can be continued with practical theory. The aim of this research is to determine students' abilities in solving mathematical problems when working on story problems. The method used is a written test which contains various contextual questions. The results of this test are used to assess students' mathematical abilities.
