Abstrak

This study examines the role of educational supervision in improving the quality of education. Educational supervision is a series of coaching activities carried out by supervisors (school supervisors or principals) towards teachers and other school staff. Through supervision, teachers receive guidance, direction, and evaluation in an effort to improve their competence and performance. This study explores the basic concepts, functions, objectives, and principles of educational supervision, as well as its implementation in schools. The method used is a literature study (literature review) by examining various sources such as journals, books, and research reports related to educational supervision. The results of the study indicate that effective educational supervision can improve the quality of the learning process, encourage professional growth of teachers, and ultimately improve the overall quality of education. To optimize the role of educational supervision, a deep understanding of the principles of supervision, the appropriate approach, and the role of the principal as a supervisor, mentor, and facilitator is needed. This research provides practical insights and recommendations for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers in an effort to optimize educational supervision to achieve national education goals.
