Penggunaan Deiksis dalam Cerpen ‘Hiks, Kupikir Kau Naksir Aku’ pada Novel Bertuja Rasanya Karya Tere Liye

Abstrak

Pragmatics studies contextual meaning, which is communicated more than just what is directly said. One important aspect of pragmatics is deixis. Deixis refers to the determination of the location and identification of people, objects, events, processes, or activities being discussed or referred to in communication, which is related to the dimensions of space and time at the moment of the conversation. This research is titled "The Use of Deixis in the Short Story 'Hiks, Kupikir Kau Naksir Aku' in the Novel Berjuta Rasanya by Tere Liye." The aim of this study is to understand how deixis affects the dynamics between characters, the plot, and the context of space and time in shaping the implied meaning within the story. This study is related to a previous study entitled “Analysis of Deixis in the Short Story Bila Semua Wanita Cantik! by Tere Liye” conducted by Ayu Mutia, Fatimah Khusna, and Asep Purwo Yudi Utomo in 2022, which analyzed deixis in the short story Bila Semua Wanita Cantik! by Tere Liye. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach aimed at identifying, explaining, and examining the use of deixis in the short story. The data analysis of this study shows the presence of time deixis, persona deixis, and place deixis found in the short story 'Hiks, Kupikir Kau Naksir Aku' by Tere Liye.
