Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact and challenges of implementing Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) on the learning motivation of third-grade students at SDN Sumberejo 1, Kaliwungu, Kendal. Using a qualitative research method, data were collected through classroom observations and interviews with teachers and students. The findings reveal that the implementation of TPACK has not been optimal due to several obstacles, including limited technological facilities, large class size, and diverse cognitive abilities among students. Insufficient technological tools such as projectors, unstable Wi-Fi, and slow equipment maintenance hinder teachers from integrating digital learning media effectively. Moreover, the high student–teacher ratio and variations in academic readiness complicate classroom management and reduce students’ learning motivation. These challenges not only affect the application of TPACK but also influence the overall effectiveness of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study emphasizes the need for adequate technological support, ideal class size, and adaptive pedagogical strategies to optimize TPACK implementation and improve students’ motivation to learn.
