Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of discussion-based learning strategies in the Fiqh Muamalah subject, especially Khiyar material, at MAS. Fatihul Ulum Prajjan Camplong. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with Fiqh teachers, and documentation of grade X students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the success of the discussion strategy begins with careful planning, including the preparation of lesson plans, syllabus, and preparation of supporting media such as practice videos. The implementation of learning consists of preliminary, core, and closing activities. The teacher used a short lecture as an introduction before facilitating an interactive discussion among students. Evaluation was conducted through a live oral Q&A session at the end of the session. Research concluded that the discussion strategy was effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, self-confidence, and in-depth understanding of complex material. Furthermore, this method helped students connect religious theory to contemporary societal issues through dynamic collaborative relationships. While effective, time efficiency and the dominance of certain students remain challenges that require teachers' creativity in managing.
