Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning and implementation of Civic Education (PKn) learning on the topic "Various Norms and Their Application" in grade V of SD Negeri 2 Karangtengah based on the principles of the Independent Curriculum. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with observation techniques on teaching module documents and classroom learning activities. The results of the study indicate that the learning plan has been well-structured, including module identity, learning outcomes, objectives, materials, methods, and assessments according to the characteristics of phase B students. The teaching module is designed systematically and oriented towards developing attitudes and understanding of normative values. The learning implementation runs effectively through three main stages, namely opening, core, and closing activities. Teachers can create an interactive and contextual learning atmosphere in the classroom by involving students in discussions, observations, and presentations of work results. Students show high enthusiasm and can relate the concept of norms to everyday life. However, the assessment is still dominated by written exercises, so it is recommended to expand the form of authentic assessment based on project activities and observations. Overall, the planning and implementation of Civics learning at Karangtengah 02 Public Elementary School are in line with the principles of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes flexibility, active participation, and meaningful learning.
