Teachers are one of the important factors in educational success. Quality teachers will be able to provide quality learning as well. Therefore, the professional competence of teachers needs to be a major concern. The professional competence of teachers is one of the important factors in improving the quality of education. Teachers who have good professional competence will be able to carry out their duties well, so as to produce quality students. Teacher professional competence can be interpreted as the teacher's ability to master learning materials, learning methods, and learning evaluation. This professional competence of teachers is very important for teachers to have in order to carry out their duties optimally. In this journal, we will discuss the understanding, components, and importance of teacher professional competence. In addition, it will also be discussed about how to improve the professional competence of teachers. Teachers are one of the important factors in educational success.
